Conditions & Treatments

Complete Care for Every Step

We offer a wide range of services for feet, ankles, legs, knees and hips in a relaxed and friendly environment. From first assessments to advanced treatment, we have you covered.

Heel, Arch & Ankle Pain

Heel and ankle pain are among the most common reasons people visit a podiatrist. The good news is that these conditions are very treatable when assessed properly. We use on-site diagnostic ultrasound to confirm your diagnosis at your first appointment, so we can start the right treatment straight away.

Plantar Heel Pain (Plantar Fasciitis)

Pain underneath the heel is most often caused by plantar fasciitis, though other conditions can also be present. We assess your biomechanics, footwear and gait to determine why the pain started, then build a treatment plan to resolve it. On-site ultrasound is available at no extra charge during your initial consultation.

Posterior Heel Pain (Achilles Tendinopathy)

Pain at the back of the heel commonly affects runners, jumpers and active individuals, but it can also develop during everyday life. Conditions include Achilles tendinopathy, retrocalcaneal bursitis and Haglund's deformity. We differentiate the cause using ultrasound and clinical examination, then guide you through a structured recovery plan.

Ankle Sprains & Instability

Whether it is a fresh roll or a recurring problem, ankle injuries are painful and disruptive. We keep CAM boots and ankle braces on site, and we work with you on rehabilitation to reduce the risk of it happening again.

Foot, Ankle & Leg Pain

Generalised pain in the lower limb can stem from biomechanical issues, overuse, footwear problems or underlying conditions. We perform comprehensive assessments to find the true source and treat it directly.

Forefoot & Toe Conditions

The forefoot contains many small joints, bones, ligaments and nerves. When these structures become irritated, walking and running can become difficult. We treat the full spectrum of forefoot conditions, from conservative management to advanced interventions.

Bunions (Hallux Valgus)

Bunions can be painful and affect shoe fit and walking comfort. We offer non-surgical management including footwear advice, orthotics and padding. Where conservative care is not enough, we can refer and co-manage with surgical colleagues.

Morton's Neuroma

A compressed nerve between the toes can cause burning, tingling or sharp pain in the ball of the foot. We use diagnostic ultrasound to confirm the diagnosis and offer treatments ranging from footwear changes and orthotics to ultrasound-guided injections if required.

Metatarsalgia

Pain in the ball of the foot is often caused by overloaded metatarsal heads. We use in-shoe pressure analysis to pinpoint the exact areas of high load, then design padding, orthotics or footwear modifications to redistribute pressure.

Ingrown Toenails

Ingrown toenails are one of the most common foot complaints, particularly in children and teenagers. They occur when the nail plate aggravates the surrounding skin, causing pain, redness, swelling and sometimes infection. Lane Sanderson spent four years at the Melbourne Ingrown Toenail Clinic specialising in difficult cases. We fix ingrown toenails with minimal discomfort, and we offer permanent nail surgery under local anaesthesia for recurrent cases.

Fungal Nail Treatment

Around 10 percent of the population experiences fungal nail infection at least once. We offer a range of conservative and surgical therapies, including pathology testing to confirm the diagnosis and, where appropriate, prescription of oral antifungal medication.

Onyfix Nail Correction System

Onyfix is a revolutionary, painless, non-surgical treatment for ingrown, involuted or deformed toenails. A specially developed composite resin is applied to the nail plate and cured with UV light. Over 8-12 weeks, the resin gently reshapes the nail as it grows. No needles, no surgery, safe for diabetics and children.

Skin & Nail Care

Thick toenails, calluses and cracked heels are not just unsightly; they can be painful and lead to more serious problems if neglected. We provide the full scope of general podiatric care using modern, comfortable equipment.

Corns & Calluses

Hard or soft corns and calluses develop from repeated friction and pressure. We remove them safely and identify the underlying cause to prevent recurrence.

Warts

Plantar warts can be stubborn and painful. We offer evidence-based treatments tailored to your age, health status and lifestyle.

Cracked Heels

Deep heel fissures can become infected if left untreated. We debride the hard skin, treat any infection, and provide advice on moisturisers and footwear to keep heels healthy.

Thickened Nails

Nails can thicken due to trauma, fungus or age. We reduce them comfortably and advise on ongoing care.

Diabetic Foot Assessments

People with diabetes are at increased risk of nerve damage and poor circulation. Regular podiatric assessment is essential. We perform comprehensive neurological and vascular checks, footwear assessments and ongoing monitoring.

Nail Cutting & General Foot Care

For patients who struggle to reach or safely manage their own nails, we provide routine nail cutting and foot care in a safe, hygienic environment.

Children's Feet & Sports Services

Children's feet change rapidly. Early assessment can prevent small issues from becoming major problems later in life. For athletes, timely diagnosis and structured rehab are the keys to returning to sport stronger than before.

Children's Feet

We assess and monitor developmental concerns including in-toeing (pigeon toe), toe walking, knock-knees, Sever's disease, growing pains, ingrown toenails and warts. We recommend a child's first podiatry appointment when they start school, or sooner if you notice frequent tripping, reluctance to play, or complaints of sore feet or legs.

Medial Tibial Stress Syndrome (Shin Splints)

Shin splints are common in runners and athletes involved in high-impact activities. Left untreated, they can progress to stress fracture. We differentiate MTSS from other causes of shin pain using clinical examination and on-site ultrasound, then address training load, biomechanics and footwear to get you back on track.

Fracture, Sprain & Strain Management

Injuries do not run on a schedule. We keep CAM boots, ankle braces and post-operative shoes on site, and we do our best to see serious injuries on the same day. We manage rolled ankles, strained Achilles tendons, metatarsal fractures and stress fractures with a focus on rapid, safe return to activity.

Foot Drop

Foot drop can have a dramatic impact on quality of life. We assess the biomechanical causes and offer a range of orthotics, braces and devices. We also work closely with physiotherapists to co-ordinate functional rehabilitation.

Shockwave Therapy

Shockwave therapy is a simple, quick, non-invasive treatment for chronic foot and leg problems including plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendinopathy and shin splints. Most patients require three treatments spaced one week apart. The great news for active patients: you can generally continue training as normal around the treatments.

Ultrasound-Guided Injections

When injections are clinically indicated, precision matters. Our Sonosite PX point-of-care ultrasound system allows us to inject with accuracy and care. We offer corticosteroid injections, prolotherapy, hydrodistension and local anaesthesia, depending on the condition and your treatment history.

Foot Pressure Analysis

Our in-shoe pressure analysis system provides objective, measurable data about how your foot loads during walking, running and sport. We use this information to guide footwear prescription, orthotic design and padding choices, then re-test in real time to confirm the improvement.

The Richie Brace

The Richie Brace is a custom-made ankle-foot orthosis designed to stabilise the foot and ankle in cases of severe instability, posterior tibial tendon dysfunction and other complex conditions. Lightweight, durable and comfortable, it can be an excellent alternative to surgery for suitable patients.

Custom Orthotics (3D Laser Scanned)

We use Delcam iQube 3D foot scanning technology to capture the perfect impression of your foot. No messy plaster. No three-week waiting times. Your podiatrist designs the orthotic based on years of clinical experience, and it is manufactured by a specialised orthotic laboratory. Scans are kept on file permanently, so reordering in the future is as simple as a phone call.

Not Sure Which Condition Applies to You?

That is completely normal. Many foot and leg problems have overlapping symptoms. Book an initial consultation and we will diagnose the issue, explain your options, and build a treatment plan that suits your life.
